Royal Farms Arena

Top-tier concerts and high-drama sporting contests? Just business as usual at the Royal Farms Arena, entertaining the masses in Baltimore, MD for better than a half-century.

Legendary Performers

The Royal Farms Arena opened in 1961 as the Baltimore Civic Center, occupying a historically rich footprint: the site of the "Old Congress Hall", a meeting place of the Second Continental Congress in 1776-1777. Over its many years as an entertainment venue, the arena has hosted some of the biggest acts in music. We’re talking the Beatles (1964), Jimi Hendrix (1970), Elvis Presley (in 1977, shortly before his death), Luciano Pavarotti (1986), the Rolling Stones (2006), Bruce Springsteen (2009), and Prince (2015). Dr. Martin Luther King made a speech at the arena in 1966; 42 years later, Barack Obama held a campaign rally here during his successful bid for the White House.

The arena is also a sports venue: Everything from bull-riding to figure skating to lacrosse to mixed martial arts. It’s home base for the Baltimore Blast soccer team and the Baltimore Brigade arena football team.

Needless to say, the Royal Farms Arena calendar is worth keeping an eye on: You never know who might be coming to town!
